Aztreonam

Indication: Gramnegative infections including in patients with immediate hypersensitivity to penicillins/cephalosporins; limited activity vs Pseudomonas depending on susceptibility; no activity vs grampositives or anaerobes.
Pediatric dosage: 30-50 mg/kg/dose IV every 6-8 hr (maximum 2 g/dose).
Route: IV
Frequency: Every 6-8 hr.
Warnings: Hypersensitivity (rare crossreactivity with other betalactams); adjust for renal impairment.

Benzathine Penicillin G
Generic: Benzathine penicillin G
Indication: Streptococcal pharyngitis; rheumatic fever prophylaxis; yaws/treponematoses.
Pediatric dosage: Strep pharyngitis: <27 kg: 600,000 units IM once
>=27 kg: 1.2 million units IM once. Rheumatic fever prophylaxis: 1.2 million units IM every 3-4 weeks.
Route: IM
Frequency: Single dose (treatment) or every 3-4 weeks (prophylaxis).
Warnings: Injection pain; hypersensitivity including anaphylaxis.
